How to be more involved in college?

Ok, so i am a freshman pursuing Chemical Engineering in the University of Washington. I'm also an Honors student there.

I am studying hard to get good grades, but i want to do MORE.

I am 90% sure i'm getting a research job at the U studying Pickering Emulsions (which is categorized under chemical engineering).

But that's all i got. i think i should be doing more, but i'm not sure what to exactly do.

I was thinking about joining a tae kwon do club seeing how i enjoy tae kwon do and self defense.

any ideas?

that's a good idea. Really, just join things that you think you will like. If you don't like it, you can just stop going.

Go to your office of student involvement and see what other organizations are available.

Increasing your involvement is something that you have to be constantly seeing out. At my school, there was one wall in the union where all the applications and announcements for student organizations were located. I made it a habit to walk by there about once a week to see what new applications were out. If there was one that was interesting, I applied. Did I get into all of them? No, but I got in more often than I was rejected.
