How to calculate UC GPA?

I've never heard that about ELC. I know they don't cap weighted classes for ELC eligibility, but once you apply the same cap is used as other admissions, correct???? Also doesn't Cal allow more weighted classes than the rest?

^^ 8 semester ap for normal admissions eligiblity, i.e., eligibility in the local context. Yes, no cap for ELC admissions eligibility calculation, assuming your HS participates and sends files (instate only). Both calculated gpa's (capped and uncapped) will be shown on the applicatioin file for the reader to see.

Sorry to bring up a dead thread, but I am still confused as to how this works.
Is it this:
Sophomore Year(Bad I Know):
English 10 - B/B-----------3/3
Honors Chemistry - B/B–3(+1)/3(+1)
Spanish 2 - C/C-----------2/2
PST - C/C-----------------2/2
US History - B/A-----------3/4
2 Electives- A/A-----------4/4
--------------------------18/19 ~ 3.1 Sophomore GPA
Junior Year:
Honors English - B/B—3(+1)/3(+1)
AP Chem - B/B--------3(+1)/3(+1)
Pre-Calc - A/A------------4/4
US History II - A/A--------4/4
2 Electives - A/A----------4/4
--------------------------20/20 = 4.0 Junior Year GPA
