How to convince a teacher to bump your 89%?

I've had all As for two years now, but I just screwed up my chemistry final and got a C. I have a 91 in the class right now and I'm pretty sure I'll be down to at most an 89... What kind I say to my teacher to get my grade raised? I'm going to be really upset if lose my 4.0 over 1 percent.

EDIT: I just reread and saw that you said final. I would just ask the teacher if there is any way to bring your final report card grade up. They’ll either say yes or no so there’s no harm in asking.

Out of curiosity, your final is how much % of your grade?

If you got a C on the final did you really deserve an A? I think you should answer this first.

This may be illegal but seduction?

LOL

As someone else said, there’s probably not much harm in asking (though some teachers find this annoying and it could reflect badly on you). But if the school wanted an 89% to be considered an A, the grading scale would reflect that.

Depending on what kind of teacher he/she is, all you can really do is just ask them and see what they say. Technically when the final is completed, that is the end of the class and your grade is what you get.

Also, as upsetting as it may be losing your perfect 4.0 over a 1%, I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Typically in college, as long as your GPA is in the 3.8-4.0 range people will see you as being smart. There’s really no bonus in having a 4.0 if your GPA is in that range anyways.

I had the same circumstance and my gpa would go down .1 with an 89 and I begged my teacher to raise it ( I was the smartest individual in the class and I helped tutor others in the class) and she still didn’t raise it because my class grade was a B but my exam grade an A so she thought I didn’t deserve it:/

What I did was go through the tests and quizzes to see if I could find a couple of points that I could get back in order to bump it up to a A-. Either way this grade will bring down your 4.0 UW GPA.

Go back in a time machine and study harder for the chemistry final.

You should’ve tried harder on the final. It’s not the teacher’s fault. If I were a teacher I wouldn’t change it.

Rounding is often used in chemistry maybe you should round up :).
or
I’m not asking you to give me extra credit, just give me the reciprocal of my lowest score ;)

1/0= ?

UPDATE: With out even asking yet, my teacher raised my test score 2% (so I got a 79%) and I have a 90% in the class overall! Either he was nice or there was a bad question he gave us points back for! There is hope people!

Are you sure you didn’t use seduction?

^ That>

That is greater than nothing?

Teenage lingo.

Unless you’re being sarcastic, sorry, hard to tell on an online forum.
