How to convince my counselor to let me drop study hall?

In my high school, we are required to take a study hall for our sophomore year. I think this dumb especially when you get a first period study hall and have nothing to do. How do I convince my counselor to bend the rules so I can skip study hall and take another class? instead I would take Honors Physics or AP government. What should I do? If I do skip study hall, I can take even mor AP classes in the future. Thanks

Has anyone else at your school skipped study hall (or tried to)? You can ask them how they did it.

You can show your counselor that you’re capable of handling the workload.

But don’t be disappointed if your counselor refuses. It’s a rule, after all, and rules not supposed to be bent.

I don’t know anyone who has done it but there may have been people. Also I am capable, as I have a 4.0 gpa my freshman year and take all honors classes. I will try my best to convince her
