How to convince parents...

<p>I'm an indian who will definitely apply to us colleges in about a year.
The problem is that my mom is insistent on me giving my native engineering exam too(iit jee-some overhyped pressuring exam which expects you to drop everything and stuff your brain with formulas).
I have to attend classes for these exams 3 days a week,and 4 hours one class.
Along with school,this doesn't give me time to study for SAT,or any other test.how do I convince my mother to let me leave these classes?</p>

<p>Sorry,I know this should've been posted on the indian thread,but I just wanted as many ideas I could get.</p>

<p>First, in order for it to be a good idea to drop those exams, you have to know for sure that you can get accepted to a US university that is acceptable to your parents and that you can afford the full very expensive price I suppose.</p>

<p>Yes,I will not be unrealistic and apply to only the top schools,my dad and I have worked out a list of schools out of which 2 wilmmost probably accept me.the only problem is convincing my mom.</p>
