Hi I'm a sophomore in high school taking IB Math Hl 1.
I did really well in Algebra 2, but this year I'm not doing so well.
I'm certain its because its a new teacher thats not experienced with the IB course, does not understand what he's teaching, and gives random pop quizzes on things we haven't done before...should I go down to IB Math SL? or hang in there....

is anyone in the same situation? should I talk to my counselor? help!

Switch out.

In any class, the best way to deal with a bad teacher is either to switch out or talk to the teacher. But the latter rarely works, because they're not going to change their teaching strategies overnight. If you're not doing well, you need to get into a class that you will do well in.

Agreed. The teacher is just going to think you're bellyaching and can't hack it, even when it's their method that sucks. Definitely switch out.
