Hey! I need help, my parents are not allowing me to take my car to college next year (which is ok by me) and I know I will be taking Amtrak from school to home and visa versa...only my problem is how do you get from the Santa Barbara Amtrak station to UCSB visa versa?

When you get off the Santa Barbara Amtrak station, you should be at the intersection of State & Yanonali streets. From there, either walk (about 0.8 miles) to State & Carrillo streets, or take the [Downtown-Waterfront Shuttle](http://www.sbmtd.gov/Lines/Line_Downtown.htm). At State & Carrillo, walk west one block to Carrillo & Chapala and you’ll be at the SB MTD Transit Center. From there, you can take [line 24X/url. If there aren’t any 24X’s scheduled to depart when you arrive, you can also take [url=http://www.sbmtd.gov/Lines/Line_06.htm]line 11](http://www.sbmtd.gov/Lines/Line_24x.htm) which runs more frequently, but takes about 50 minutes to get to UCSB. Riding SB MTD is free for students (although I’m not sure if the shuttle is included in that…)

the waterfront shuttle is not included in your student fees so you have to pay to ride the shuttle. however, the fare is maybe 50cents or 75cents

whistle this is going to be so confusing for me…

this is a very simple problem to solve and this is how i solved it. since your parents HAVE to drive you here, (it’s not like they’re going to package up your belongings and ship it to your dorm room) after a couple weeks, take the 24x to the transit center, and ask the people inside how to get to the amtrak station. once they tell you, follow their instructions, and make your way to the station. once at the station, go back to the transit center the same way you got to the station, and voila! you know how to get from ucsb to the amtrak station.

haha, thanks!
