How to go about the transfer process

<p>Basically, I'm applying as a transfer to one school, and it's not necessarily getting in that I'm concerned with (I'm not DESPERATE to go, it's really more for some personal reasons, I'd like to go but it doesn't mean the world to me), I just have no idea how to go about the process. So I have a number of questions.</p>

<li><p>I'm a first semester freshman, I'm gonna apply after finals so I have my first semester grades so I'll be applying for next fall.</p></li>
<li><p>Since I'm only a freshman, can I recycle my recs or do I need new ones from college professors? Do I need hard copies?</p></li>
<li><p>Since I no longer have a counselor, do I just gather all of the materials and send them myself?</p></li>
<li><p>Any chance of non need based financial aid or no because I'm a transfer?</p></li>
<li><p>Should I basically just update my resume to add my college activities?</p></li>
</ul>

<p>Any other tips? Basically I just don't know how to go about the transfer process.</p>

<p>First, you should go to the CA and/or the website of the school you are going to transfer to. The answers to most of your questions are there. </p>

<p>LORs must be from college profs/TAs. Yes, hard copies.</p>

<p>Yes, you are on your own. </p>

<p>Depends on the school, but there is much less merit for transfers than fr applicants.</p>
