How To Improve

Hey guys,

I just finished my freshman year of high school, and I have to admit, I think i *****ed it up. I joined a couple clubs, but wasn't serious about anything and ended up not meeting the requirements for all of them, my GPA this year was 3.3. The only extracurricular I have is Track and Field. I want to go to ideally Penn State, UC Davis, Texas A&M, Renesslaer Polytechnic, (etc). I want to be a plastic surgeon, ophthalmologist, or dentist. Could you guys give me any career advice, whether I screwed it up that badly? I've taken a AP Exam in 8th grade, and got a 3, (The exam was APUSH), and I plan on taking WHAP as a sophmore. Any suggestions on college picks based on my ideal career, whether i can still get in, what classes to take, and extracurricular stuff i should get into?

PS

Some of my hobbies include technology, computers, etc...
I don't want to go into engineering though.

You’re thinking way too far ahead of yourself. All this taking AP exams and thinking about colleges and ophthalmology amounts to nothing if you don’t get good grades. Grades matter more than AP exams. Grades matter more than clubs, and unless you’re good enough to run track in college, grades matter more than track.

Get better grades. Then worry about all the other stuff.

I’m decent but not good enough to compete in college, and the main reason I got a 3.33 was because of my math grade, since I slacked off during training. I already started looking for some volunteer stuff nearby to do during the summer, as I am doing nothing but some summer homework. I’ll try to join atleast 1-2 clubs that I know I could manage. Thanks for the great advice!
