Obviously there is no surefire way to get in. But, are there things one can do to increase their chances of being admitted? Are there particular things Steinhardt looks for? Do they use a holistic approach? I’m looking to get into the speech pathology master’s program. Competitive-I know. I’m aiming for a 3.7-3.8 overall undergraduate GPA, undergraduate research with professors, excellent references and an internship or two along with tons of shadowing hours. I have about two years to prep for this. I couldn’t attend NYU right after high school due to financial reasons, and for the longest time I put NYU completely out of my mind. But after thinking about it recently, I’ve decided that NYU is worth the money (and debt). I regret not attending NYU in the first place, and now there’s nothing I’ve wanted more in my life. I can’t picture myself anywhere else. Please, if you have any tips or advice, help me out! I have adequate time to make myself competitive. I pretty much know what’ll look good on paper, but maybe there’s something I don’t know that someone on here does that’ll help me out/increase my chances of being admitted.
