How to make that final push to 2400?

Can anyone give me some tips for making that final push to 2400?

On my Oct SAT, I got
M - 710
Cr - 740
W - 800.

The thing is, my math and Cr is usually spotless. But on the real test, I was switching answers like crazy and I must have switched the right answer to the wrong answer for CR at least 3 times.

My math was just terrible. I dont know what happened. After continually getting 800s, I was just shocked at that score.

So guys, any tips for maintaining your usual performance in the real scenario?

Dude, that happened to me too. I got 750+ on CR and only 800s on Math on my practice tests before the October SAT, but, on the real test, I experienced the same thing as you did - I got 730 Math and 710 Critical Reading. Fail.

Also, an even creepier coincidence we both have: I got 800 Writing too. ***FFF.

Honestly, I think it’s not capability. I think it was nerves and all that.

yes I also got like 100 lower compared to when I did the practice tests

Im gonna retake in Dec and desperate for a final push as well

Depends what practice book you’re using too. I’ve found Kaplan stuff is WAY too easy, Princeton is a good approximation, and Sparknotes might be a bit harder.

I’m using official SAT tests from years ago (dont ask me where i got them)

I just use this scale every single time:

Math
-0 - 800
-1 - 780

CR
-1 - 800
-2 - 800
-3 - 770

Writing
-2 - 800
-3 - 780

Grab Barron’s, and do tons of testing simulations. If nerves are a problem, then set some stakes on your practice test scores. For instance, you might arrange for your parents to ground you for a month if you miss more than 2 math questions. Or perhaps confess to your crush if you score less than 750 on CR practice. Whatever it takes to make you nervous, and prepare you for actually taking the SAT. :P

LOL.
