My D got a very nice offer from one of the three schools she is looking at. However, it is her last choice of the three (in fact, probably will not choose this school.) When speaking to the coaches at #1 and #2, how much information should she give them regarding said offer? Should she tell them the exact percentage or just say it was a signicant offer from XYZ school? Thanks!

Have #1 and #2 made any offers yet? I think it would be premature to bring up 3’s offer if they haven’t.

Once offers have been made, I think it’s appropriate to discuss and compare the COA at the different schools.

The coaches DD is talking to have all said that they want to know the final numbers to they can have a chance to match if their initial offer isn’t good enough. Mostly that means they will go to the admissions people and get her more merit aid because they only get so much athletic aid to use. Have her send an email letting the coaches know that she plans on having a decision by whatever date (DD is notifying her schools by Nov 1 for the Nov signing date). They should get back to you with an offer and then you can compare.

Thanks for your help guys! This is getting stressful…can’t wait for November! SteveMa -good luck to your D as well! :)
