How to Prep Effectively over the summer?

I want to prep effectively over the summer, and right now I have the big blue book, and Gruber's. Plus a bunch of Kaplan Flash Cards. What is the best way to approach the big 3 topics? And what should my regular routine be? Thanks!

Hey, I’m in the same boat as you. I have an SAT score of 1800 though and I would like to put in some serious prepping throughout the summer to raise my score to about a 2100.

I feel like I am limited in CR because a lot of it is more a test-taking and reading comprehension ability which is developed throughout years of one’s life. Although I will still memorize a good 1000 words over summer along with reading more sophisticated material comparable to the SAT reading.

People have been telling me that math is something anyone can score a 750-800 with enough practice. Since the same subjects are covered over and over again on the SAT it would be easy to master. I also plan on using Grubers this summer to relearn all of the math. After I relearn everything I will take practice tests from the blue book to see my improvement and my weaker areas I will go over once again.

Writing is another subject where people have been telling me I or anyone else is capable of scoring at least a 700-750. I think the best approach to this would be numerous practice tests and memorized important/common grammar rules that show up. Sparknotes English will help a lot for this. The essay seems to be subjective so I would say you would have to be a master at English and be a little lucky to score 800 on Writing.

I think my routine study plan will be
2 Hours of studying each week-day during summer in the morning (Grubers, Grammar Rules, Vocabulary)
1 Practice test every sunday morning (So about 12 Practice tests total)
I will give myself the whole saturday off to be free from the SAT.

I’m confident if I stick with this plan I will get a 2100 although your aspirations may be higher so you may want to listen to someone else.

Good luck!

That’s some good advice! The thing is, I haven’t taken the actual SAT yet  I’m a sophomore, and I took a practice test (at a library) without studying in the beginning of the year and got a 1645 T_T I hope I can break 2100 in Decemberish though D:Are grammar rules really necessary? Or can I just do a lot of practice questions?
