It's a very difficult class at our school. I'm pretty good at Algebra and Geometry, but I honestly don't know anything about calculus. How can I prepare ahead of time? Honors is MUCH more difficult than the regular class, but I can't take AP Calc BC unless I take the honors class, and every recommends I take BC. Thanks~~

Um, why would you need to? It’s pre-calculus. There’s absolutely no calculus in it unless you learn limits at the end.

Try finding some precalc books. You don’t have to buy them, you can always borrow a couple from your local library. Watch some Khan Academy videos from the precalc section. Work out LOTS AMD LOTS of problems.

I think just getting an intuitive grasp on the unit circle would be good to start off.

thanks for the suggestions!

Expect it to be the worst class you’ve ever taken.

I took precalc honors last year. I’m not sure how different it is at your school, but at mine, pretty much the entire first semester was just expansion on some of the more difficult Algebra II Honors concepts. It probably can’t hurt to review stuff like series, logarithms, conic sections, etc.

Trig will be much easier to jump into if you have a basic understanding of the concept of radians and the unit circle. I would highly recommend memorizing your unit circle measurements as soon as possible. Go over your trig rules/identities as well (ex. sin squared theta + cos squared theta = 1).
