How to raise money?

Hello all.
So, I need to fund raise in order to pay for my ticket and possibly a hotel for the QB prep scholar Stanford Conference. I was thinking about asking restaurants and grocery stores to donate items(they most likely have to be packaged) and then with my school's approval, selling them after school. I was thinking along the lines of H-E-B or Papa Johns, places that will be willing to donate to an academic cause. My question is, how exactly would I go about contacting these places? Do I contact a local store? Is there anything I should mention or say that would make them more willing to help? Are there any other places you think would be good other than stores? I'd appreciate any other fundraising ideas, as well.

My friend earned enough for a plane ticket to eastern Europe (to volunteer in an orphanage) by selling baked goods at recess. I can’t really help, never having done it myself, but just wanted to say that yes, it can be done :).
Hang in there and good luck!

You should def do the baking approach.
First make sure your school allows fundraising, then bake goods such as brownies, cakes, etc.
Sell them for $1 each, and buy the batter on sale. Make the chunks a little big, but not too big. You will definitely make profit because 2.99 of brownie mix makes about 16 of these brownies. Plus you can cook multiple types at a time and simply refrigerate. Another alternative is fundraising candy bars through company’s. If these choices don’t work, you should inevitably sign up for a job through connections and quit once you’re done earning the amount you need.
