How to rise my CR score from 500 to 600?
I will be satisfied if I can get a 600 on CR.

I want to know how to raise my CR from 400-550. I would think lots of PRACTICE.

Taek a prep course or get a tutor. Test prep works. It isn't about what you know, its about knowing how to take the test.

I know a lot of strategies that work for me, but my comprehension just sucks ass.

Enrich your vocabulary.

Read. A lot. Look up words that are unfamiliar to you. Remember those words. Read the passage(s) once before attempting the questions - this saves time and increases your level of accuracy.

If I can think of more advice I'll get back to you. Good luck!

memorize "wordsmart" list of vocab.

it will definately put you in the 600's region

I think memorising vocab is most effective in raising your scores up till 600.

replace rise with raise in your post, thats how

It's more than just practice, I'll tell you that. I practiced my but off and only managed to pull a 620 at most.

You need to fully understand the questions and how to answer them. After you practice for so long you will see that you are getting better by a little bit, but there are still questions that you seem to miss almost every time. Where I went wrong is I kept practicing the things I did well isntead of focusing on the things I know I suck at. It hurt me on the PSATs. I knew exactly what I couldn't do, and didn't know what to do about it.

modest reading skills + WordSmart vocab = 600.

but 600 -> 700? anyone help?

Most people who push 700+ scores in CR have been reading a lot for their entire lives...

poor reading skills + what = 550+?

All my troubles are caused by the limited vocabulary.But I'm too lazy to memorize word lists.:mad:

Yeah, I'm pushing 600 --> 700.

Anyone read my post? I'm sure it would work! I'm going to take a summer course with Sylvan.

poor reading skills + nasty vocab skills = 550+ in 20 years?

poor reading skills + WordSmart Vocab List = 600

lots of luck = 700.

I went from a 450 to a 600 with half of the WordSmart vocab list (in practice tests though... I'm still waiting for my Jan SAT)

good luck!

Grammatix, vocab, reading. My first practice test, I got 660 verbal, on my first SAT I got a 750. Expanded my vocabulary and practiced a lot.

read everything you can

lil_killer129: poor reading skills + what = 550+?

poor reading skills + reading = 550+ X

If you're a procrastinator, then take AP English Language. When AP week comes around, you'll force yourself to take practice tests and all of a sudden it just clicks as to how to do CR.

But...if you don't have time for that then....I suggest you read a little bit more and take blue book tests over and over again.
