This has confused me, should we get one teacher to write it and give them envelopes for each school that requires it or do you need only one sent to common app??

You cannot submit electronic LORs via the CA for transfer admissions.

You fill out the top part of the CA Instructor Evaluation form, then give it to your instructor to fill out the rest and either print their LOR on the form or attach it on a separate paper. You need to provide them with as many envelopes as schools you’re applying to. They will put everything inside and sign the back across the flap (for proof that it has not been tampered with). They can either return everything back to you to mail, or you can put the addresses and sufficient postage on the envelopes when you give them to your instructor.

So I should also expect the professor to make copies of it to send to all of the schools? Excuse my ignorance of the process, I didn’t use the common app during the freshman undergrad application process.

Yes, the easiest way to do this is for the prof to fill out the rest of the form (except the signature), make the number of necessary copies, and then sign all the copies, put them in the envelopes and sign over the seal of the envelopes.

It doesn’t help for you to give the prof a lot of copies, because then they would have to fill out each one; much easier to fill out one and then copy.

The CA for transfers is more complicated because LORs have to be done hard copy, not electronically like for fr apps through the CA.

Okay, this is for the college professor’s LOR(s), right? What about the secondary school forms? Can we send those electronically, or do we need to go to our high school counselor and get them to fill out/send the secondary school reports. And for the secondary school recommendation (from the counselor), they still have mine from high school, does that go hard copy, too?

Yes, we were discussing the Instructor Evaluation form which is filled out by a prof or TA.

I just noticed on both forms that in the instructions they say “if applying by mail”. However, I know that the Instructor forms need to be sent hard copy, and always heard the same about the Secondary School Final report.

You could try doing it electronically and see if the CA lets you list a GC and then follow up by seeing if your GC is able to down load into the CA. It would definitely be easier, but I have never heard of anyone being able to do so.

Don’t forget that either way, you also have to send the HS transcript.
