I understand that this year instructors can submit their evaluations on-line via the common application. I have no idea how this is done. I have spoken to my professors and they are willing to write recommendations on my behalf. Could I send them an email with the information on the top portion of the evaluation sheet plus my waiver, in lieu of the physical form, which they would then keep for their records? I was under the impression that once I submitted their names and email addresses that they would be contacted with a link. Then they could fill out the evaluations and submit them on-line. Do I understand this correctly? Any help about this is really appreciated!

Bump. I have the same question. To Claudine: where did you submit their names? I remember having all my recs sent digitally last year when I was in high school but I can’t remember how to do that/ I don’t know if I can for transfer.

This is all I know:

WHAT IS THE COMMON APP ONLINE SCHOOL FORMS SYSTEM?
As part of the application process, schools require a variety of information to be provided by teachers and guidance counselors who have interacted with you in the high school environment. Until last year, those forms were only available as PDF files that could be printed, copied, and mailed to the appropriate colleges. Now each teacher and counselor will have the option to complete the forms online via the Common App Online School Forms system if they desire. There is no cost to you or high schools, and using the online system is completely optional for your teachers and counselor.

When you create an account on the Common App Online, you must first indicate what high school you attend. Once this information has been saved, you can access a ‘School Forms’ section of the Common App where teachers and counselors can be identified. By adding a teacher or counselor to the list of school officials, an email is triggered to the teacher or counselor with information about how to log into the Online School Forms system or how to opt for the “offline” or paper process. You are then able to track the progress of your various teachers and counselors via a screen within the Common App Online.

WHAT IF I’M A TRANSFER STUDENT?
There’s a Common Application for Transfer Admission as well as First-Year Admission. The Transfer Application is available primarily for online submission; however, the form can be downloaded in PDF format from our Download Forms page

I’m confused as to whether the transfer teacher evaluations are also supposed to be submitted on-line.

From the Common App Support Center website:

I’m not able to invite a counselor or teacher on the School Forms page.

If there is no Invite button on the School Forms page, it is likely your school is a Naviance (College Planner) member and the forms are filled out there. **Or, you are a Transfer student and the forms are offline via paper. ** Please refer to the instructions on the School Forms page for further direction. You may also talk with your counselor for more information.

So, you need to give your professor a physical (paper) copy of the evaluation form. Your application, though, can be submitted online.

Thank you very much!

Please use the Search function, this question and how to submit the CO form and IE form have been answered extensively lately.
