In the past I wasn’t super interested in medicine, but in the last year I have become interested. However I don’t think my parents realize that. My dad is a doctor and I would love for him to teach me how to suture, let me shadow him, etc. I know he would gladly let me do it, I just don’t know how to really show him that I’m interested. I’m normally pretty good about this stuff, but I just can’t find a way to do it without being awkward. Advice?
^Spelled interest wrong.
Sit down and talk to your dad about it. Alternatively, when he talks about his work ask a question or two and gradually work up to a full conversation about the field.
Good luck
Oh my, thank you for pointing that out! Is there anyway for me to change it now so I don’t look like a complete idiot? Thanks for the advice also! I just need to not think about it and do it. @TheSlacker16
If your parents ever ask you “what do you want to do when you’re older?” (I sure know mine do) tell them you want to do something with medicine!
