I'm a member of the class of 2017, meaning that I will be taking both the redesigned SAT and PSAT. Since there are no resources available yet, how should I go about doing this?

The old format SAT will be offered four times during your Jr year: Oct, Nov, Dec & Jan, so if you wanted to get a jump start on things, you could study using the current practice tests. I wouldn’t start until the summer after 10th grade, assuming that you plan to take the SAT during one of the four dates I mentioned.

Unfortunately, you will have to take the new format PSAT and I have not yet seen any information about that test.

Taking standardized tests is a skill in itself. I’m sure the prep materials for the old tests will work almost as well. I only ever studied for the ACT, but my scores on the ACT and SAT were comparable.

They’re going to be quite different, if what we’re hearing is true…

Vocab easier, essay removed?

Not sure about the vocab but the essay is going.

I’m just going to keep studying with the regular materials until they release the new ones in the spring. Really wish we didn’t have to be the guinea pigs for the PSAT though (national merit and all that)
