What the title says. My APUSH teacher says that his AP Gov students need to know 50+ Supreme Court cases; is this true? I want to get a five on the exam, can I do that if I start studying now?

I’m taking the ap too! I found this really awesome school web page with a lot of review resources. Idk how to link it but if you google “desert vista high school ap government court cases” it’s the first result. It’s actually not my school, but there’s a list of court cases to know plus other really good review materials. My teacher gave us a slightly different list, but we actually did important court cases as a unit in class. The most important thing is to know what precedent each case set, not the specific facts. For example, Texas v. Johnson said that laws banning flag burning were unconstitutional bc flag burning is protected speech.
I’m making flashcards with all the terms from that page, reviewing court cases, reading my barrons book, and taking practice tests (which you can find online free).
Good luck!

We as a class only went over about 15 cases altogether; - the most important cases were:

Marbury v. Madison
McCulloch v. Maryland
Plessy v. Ferguson
Brown v. Board
Roe v. Wade
United States v. Lopez
Citizens United v. FEC

That’s about it.

Last year, I believe there was 1 court case if I am not mistaken.
