I take the SAT in 2018 and by then my only option is the New Sat. How should I study for it now? I’ve taken an SAT before, but there are no prep books for the new one.
What will be on the Revised SAT that is on the SAT now?

I looked at the new PSAT and there is a lot of straight forward algebra. You should be really fast in solving system of equations, quadratic equations and writing an equation from a word problem. Also some data analysis range, mean, media and such. Simple trig, including properties. All question are very straightforward but you should be fast and confident. I would advise to take the new PSAT as practice and see for your self.
By the time you need them, I’m pretty confident that there will be plenty of SAT prep books to choose from. Choose wisely
For now, you should be thinking long-term skill development. Work hard in your math classes and do a ton of reading.
Also, based on the apparent new emphasis on blending statistical analysis and graph interpretation in with the reading comp, you may want to start reading the articles at Nate Silver’s website, 538.com (now part of ESPN). Nerdy stuff but it blends statistics and graphs into many of the articles.
I agree with pckeller! There’s also already a lot of online sources for SAT prep with information that is relative to the new format of the SAT
If you do want a better idea of what to expect with the new test, you can use https://www.khanacademy.org/sat for simple practice tests and a general explanation of what will be changing!
Good luck!!
Wait until this coming fall, Collegeboard will be releasing a total of eight official practice tests for the new SAT. This will give you a good idea of what to expect on the SAT. I can comment on the math and it will be pretty much aligned with high school classes, with slight twists from the test writers. If you need to practice and get a sense of what the exam would look like, then use the following resources:
SAT and PSAT sample questions from Collegeboard: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sample-questions
Full length PSAT practice test: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sites/default/files/psat_nmsqt_practice_test_1.pdf
I have a feeling that the poster above will have some excellent videos explaining Q&A for the new math SAT in the near future. His videos for the current format may be the best available.
Stop spamming the site please
You can study the 4 tests CB has already published. There should be plenty of good prep books out by the end of this year.
Otherwise, you can study for ACT math, which shouldn’t change to much. It is also close to school work math, so it should help you with that.
