How to study for the AP World History Exam?

Hey guys so I have the AP World History Exam in 2016. I’m going to be a sophomore at August (currently i’m in my summer break) and I was wondering how I should study for this exam? In my 9th grade year I got a freaking 3 on AP Human Geography D:. I studied a month and a half before the AP Human Geography exam and took the test and felt confident yet I got a 3. I was wondering if anyone could tell me good tips on studying or even good tips for the exam to get a 5 for AP World History? I bought the Princeton Review AP World History book, and I will have a class for AP World History in my upcoming 10th grade year. Thanks! I really need a 5 to cover up that terrible 3 :(.

Hi Shadowsych, I took the WHAP Exam this year and got a 4 (not bad I guess).

I remember getting this textbook and after reading almost 700 pages of it, I gave up and started just coloring my Princeton Review book.
If you really want to get a 5 on the exam I suggest actually reading the book, but don’t remember specific details (like what I tried to do). Instead just pay attention to PATTERNS.

Patterns are everything (CCOT), try to memorize what changes from what different period and there. Why things change, was there new technologies, how humans changed their environment, did a certain civilization have an organized military?

Sorry if that was vague, if you have any questions you can pm me.

I got a 5 on AP World this year. Although I did read the textbook as my teacher assigned throughout the year, I didn’t use it to study for the exam. I read through PR (for the big picture), skimmed through Barron’s (for some details), and glanced at some past FRQ (to get a sense of the test) in order to prepare for the exam.
