How to Study for UShistory + Literature in 2 Weeks????

What should I do to prepare for USHIST and LIT subject tests between now and November 7???

US History is nearly impossible. I studied the Barrons US History book and it didnt help at all.

that sucks, jw wat did you end up getting jasonshapiro?

If you haven’t taken a U.S. history class before, I think it would be really hard to study on your own for the test (SAT or AP) because of the amount of information you have to learn. And you’re trying to prep in 2 weeks!! You probably should’ve done the reading during summer…

i have taken a class on US history but i thought you guys might have some ideas how i can do some extra brushing up.

Wat about lit? Any specific terms i should know that will make a difference? That would be something attainable in 2 weeks huh?

Are there specific technical literature terms that I should learn?

Bump, please I really need to know

Read sparknotes for US History.

Crash Course for US History. You can finish reading the book in 3 hours. Read it multiple times.

Alright thanks everyone, wat about for Lit?

Try Barrons. I’m pretty sure most of their tests are harder than the actual SATs. I just took the Lit and it was sooooo much easier than the test from the Barron’s book.

i used kaplans for both history and lit. it helped a lot for lit, history is just impossible. good luck!

I don’t think most people would need any prep for lit. I took AP, but I had the bad teacher at my school, so we did nothing. We learned no terms. Everyone in the class got an A or a B, so we didn’t have to try on anything. So I think most people could take Lit cold and get a pretty good score.
The best prep for US Hist is to have taken the class. I thought I would have done badly on it, even though I took APUSH, so I never took it. But I can tell you what I did for World Hist. I took out my old modern history notes from 9th grade, reread them in full, and got a really good score. So I think cramming is a good idea. World Hist is more general knowledge than US Hist though.

Thanks Millancad, I have heard Literature is one of the hardest SATII’s so that is great news that it is easy. And when you say world hist is more general knowledge does that mean USHist is specific facts like dates and stuff?
