Any advice? Please share your story how you managed your time between school work and sat. Sharing time schedule you used would be appreciated.

Your time schedule will depend on the amount of homework you have to do that night. You should aim to finish your homework in a reasonable amount of time while still having time to study for the SAT. Aim for at least 2 hours of SAT studying per night.

5:00-6:30AM- words
7:10-2:10PM- school
2:30-6:00PM - homework, EC
6:00-10:00PM- SAT

I am dying for at least 2250.

How do you think about my schedule?

My kid did two hours of prep late on Sunday every afternoon for a good portion of her junior year. Usually from about 3:00 - 5:00. Usually she would take practice tests, then we would go over the ones she missed and discuss, and she would make flashcards. My guess is that she probably studied about 50 hours total during the year, including for subject tests. Worked out for her… NMF, 2380 superscore. I think her SAT studying also paid off on the ACT, she got a 35 with the only studying she specifically did for that was taking one practice test a few days before the actual test.

Wow. She should be very intelligent. I am not :((

This past June was my first time taking. I started studying on and off in late april and really studying mid may. I honestly did it whenever I had the time and I wasn’t overwhelmed/lazy. So on a school day it might look like this
Get back from school at 3:15, relax for 1-2 hours
From about 6-7:30 I would do chores or cook or whatever besides hw unless I got an obscene amount
From 7:30/8- 10:30ish I would do hw
I would either eat during hw time or after or not at all
I would study for 45min-1 hr+, depends on how much sleep I got the days before. But usually I would do a section a day, review it, and if I had time, another section. I have a much different schedule now but anyways, I just did a section a day, maybe skip a day or two in between. I improved 120 points. Hoping my actual studying how will bump me up to 200+ points. Im looking for a 2100+

I think your schedule is a little bit absurd, but I don’t know if other people actually follow that to succeed in that score but don’t you need a little time to relax? I mean, you just came back from school, you have no eating time in there or watching tv. Well, in the least I think that’s a bit too much time for vocab, maybe cut it down 30 minutes. Good luck!

Nope. Just saying that this study method worked for my kid. YMMV. It was a pretty painless way to squeeze in a couple of hours a week over the course of junior year.

Study on the weekends with a friend who is likely to be focused. When you come to a question where you have different answers have a quick debate with your friend over the answers. I did this and I felt that it was way more productive than mindlessly doing tests on my own after school. You really don’t have to stress the SAT that much in the end a little bit of studying goes a long way so don’t spend your whole life studying 5 hours a day.
