Great advice from one of the greats on how to interview, be interviewed or just have a great conversation with someone. This might come in useful especially over the next few months as college admissions and selections take place.

You are welcome @ciervo !
When I go on a job interview, my objective is usually let the other person feel like it was a great meeting afterwards. I have found it is not what was discussed, but rather how good you made the other person feel. Instead of doing a lot of talking, I tend to ask my interviewer questions they want to talk about, which is usually about themselves. I advise my daughters to do more listening rather than talking, connect with the interviewer on a personal level. Ask the interviewer about his/her most memorable (fun) moments in college, favorite professor/class/hang out. Why did he choose the college? Anything he would do differently? What advice would he give to a new student…
