Hello, I need your help. I am currently a freshman here at a CSU here in La and I like it. Unfortunately, My financial aid did not cover my housing and other expenses, so I could only do a quarter here. My last option is to go to a CC and do my GE there since my goal is to transfer to a UC.
My question is:
how do I do it? I already applied to the CC I wanted to go, and I have cleared things out with housing, but how do I transfer from this school to the CC? do I just stop coming, or is there like a transfer method I have to follow? who do I talk to ?
And how can I be successful, without Damaging my record, or owing money for a new quarter to the school? If anyone has gone trough this or knows the steps please HELP!!! I would appreciate it so much. Thank you.
ps. I also took out a loan that helped with this quarter, but since I am not going to be here. do any of you know how I can cancel it ASAP? Please.
Be sure to leave CSU in good standing. Talk to the advisors and FA and let them know you can’t register for the next quarter and you are withdrawing. There may be forms to fill out.
When you register at CC, if a course needs a prereq that you took at CSU, you may need to send your transcript to the CC.
hello @Happy2Help thank you so much. okay so I would just need to tell them that? do you know by any change if transferring would have a negative impact on my record? and yes I register at the CC already and I am going to see if any of the courses I took are transferable. Thank you so much for that too.
Yes, you would not be the only student in this situation.
There will be no negative impact on your record since it was just this one quarter and I presume they were lower division courses. When you get to the CC, visit their transfer center and learn about the process to the UC. Go to this forum and read/post here too: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/
Good luck!
