How to transfer to another university as a "senior", but technically a sophomore??

Hey everyone!! Really appreciate if you could spend some time having a look at my problem.
So I want to transfer to another university but I think my case is kind of special. I’m an international student, and previously I spent two and a half year in my country majoring in English(Teaching). At the end of the third year I went to my current university in United States as an exchange student, but I felt I loved the American education so after that one semester as an exchange student, I decided to transfer to this university in United States, and that’s the summer this year. But after transferring, I actually decided not to continue my current major, so I basically started my current major computer scienc, with that said, I only transferred in 3 credits of my previous two and half year’s work in my country… but I really don’t care about that.
But here comes the problem, though professors here are really nice, I realized that computer science at my current university is not good actually, (after one semester here, I could tell by the resources and the atmosphere here). This is when I decided to transfer again. But terribly, in the school’s system, I’m considered a senior regarding how many credits i’ve completed during post-secondary education. But technically, I still have three years to go to finish my current degree!! I actually called several university admin offices, some said no for senior some said this would not be a problem…
I really hope someone could give me some advide, cause this is not something could be found on school’s websites. Really appreciate!

Each college and university sets its own policy about transfers. That means that you have to ask each of them separately.

So ask each of them. If they say no because you have so many credits, then don’t apply there. Keep looking until you find some places that will let you apply.

Meanwhile, keep working hard in your current university. It may make more sense for you to finish up there, and then go somewhere else for grad school.

Most universities require you to take a certain number of credits at their institution in order to receive a degree from there, usually roughly the equivalent of 2 academic years. The usual path is to apply to transfer to another school. Once you are accepted they will review all your post-secondary credits and the uni will decide how many (and which) credits they will count, both to your major and to your degree.
