i am typing this entire message without looking at the keyboard and I have made three typos so far lol. i bet typing with the right fingers helps a ton, i dont. i want to take a typing course!

i average around 50 wpm but i look at the keyboard while typing. if i type using the "correct technique", my fingers feel scrunched... i dunno how much i could improve with practice.

if you want to test your typing speed: http://www.typingtest.com/test/default.asp

I had no idea i was so slow. I thought thhat I was faster than 38 words per minute!

Jeez, Mac keyboards sure are sticky...

83 gross WPM, 75 net WPM. :(

my "net" was 16!!!
but I prefer 38 -- my fastest.

wow, the thread of the month....so interesting.

well, I couldn't type without loooking the keyboard before either.
but last year, I was advised to take a typing course, wchih was boring but really helpful.... we just kept practiving every class....then finally i am able to type without looking at the keyboard..............

so it really comes down to how often you practice and how dedicated in practicing..

101 WPM at 94% accuracy.

I never look at the keyboard while typing unless it's some weird character. Blame elementary school--they made us do this stupid typing program called "Type to Learn" and they would put a piece of paper over our hands during typing tests...
Well, now it doesn't seem quite as stupid. So there is some reason to almost every type of torture we recieve in school right now.

the test deserves its own thread as one of the compare scores threads...
