Sadly, I found out I was USC this morning and I was crushed. USC is my dream school so I'm planning to write an appeal.

My question is, how exactly do I write one? I know I'm supposed to include new information, but what about the format? Is it supposed to be 1 page double spaced or single spaced?

Also, I know that the chances of being accepted into USC through the appeal process is low, but how low? Does anyone know the actual percentage? Is it worth appealing? Should I change my major to undeclared or a major that's easier to get into?

Thanks guys. I truly do want to attend USC next year and I am devastated right now.

Caution - @walnorte was kind enough to offer support to one person - the original poster. I’ve seen instances at other colleges where someone strategic advantage was ruined when the strategy was posted and then cloned by everyone else reading the list.

Just saying. One unique appeal may work - hundreds of the same approach will render the technique useless.

Hi @Walnorte, sorry for being another person requesting your help! If it’s not too much of a hassle I would really appreciate a PM. Thank you so much for your time!

@ExieMITAlum-- Wise advice. I’m hoping to collect a few successful appeals and see if there are any similarities within the appeals, something that really stands out. I’m helping my best friend write his, so I realize it’ll have to be personal and tailored appropriately, but hopefully contain the same essence of whatever USC loved to hear from the few successful appealers! So speaking of which… could you PM me your appeal, walnorte?
Thank you so much.

@walnorte: could I please get in on that pm as well? Thanks! I am trying to get several other appeals as well, and come up with my own in that format.

Any appeal info I can get would be great. My S is a NMF with SAT 2250, GPA over 4.0, with 7 AP classes as well as many extra curriculars and was denied.

Since May 1st is the deadline for officially selecting your college and the appeal notification for many schools is after May 1, does this mean you’re taking a chance that your appeal will be granted?
