How useful are AP credits?

Hey,

I read over the credits that can given to certain AP tests as well as the ability to skip over a prereq for certain test scores. However, is there really any use in skipping, say, Biology 19 so I can take Biology 26L right away if I plan to be an econ major?

I already have a few 4/5s that I plan to use, and it says we can only get a certain amount of credit towards our degree requirement. With that said, is there any point in studying hard for a 4/5 in classes like Gov, Bio, English Lit if I'm going to major in economics?

Thanks

Nope. Get a refund for the AP tests you have signed up for unless they are one of the sciences, econs or Calc BC and have a ridiculous amount of fun during the rest of your senior year.

To the extent of my knowledge, APs don't help much at all. I believe they will give you one elective class credit per AP exam you take, with a maximum of 4 class credits (I'm not sure how many credit-hours that is). So there's no reason to take more than 4 AP exams, other than to show your competence, if you are 100% sure you will be accepted to Duke.

Hope that helps.

So if I am supposed to take
Government
Spanish Language
Statistics
Calc BC
English Lit
and Micro Econ

and I have only gotten a 3 on physics B, 4 on APUSH and world, and 4 on English language...
Forego Gov and Stats and Lit? (as a trinity Student)

I would feel like I'm letting my teachers down ;)
