<p>Check out the thread RD Applicants: Interview Advice for everything you ever wanted to know about alumni interviews. Short answer: the interview doesn't carry much weight and getting/not getting one says nothing about your chances for admission.</p>

<p>Thank you for the reply. I checked the couple of threads which you have commented on common practice for Yale interview process. I just thought that it's a little bit unusual in my case as we live in Bay Area where there are sure lots of interviewers for Yale admission process.</p>
<p>There are also tons of applicants in the Bay Area--probably more than the interviewers, which are only a small fraction of Yale alumni, can handle.</p>
<p>I think it is extremely useful for intl applicants</p>
