For those of you took the ACT before, please compare the difficulty of the October 2010 test overall (or each section) with that of the test date you took it on. For those of you who took the September and October ACT, which October sections were easier/harder than the September sections? Which test was harder overall? Just curious...

Well I bombed the science, though I did well on the other 3 (so far looks like a 36 36 34).

So it ruined a test that could have potentially been ****ing amazing

Oh and please state the other test date you took the ACT on. Thanks. :)

It was not bad.

I took september

Reading was def easier
math and science were the same, with science being a bit harder on this one
English was the same.

^ Reading was easier than on the September test? I’m assuming ACT considered the September Reading section “easy” because they gave it a -1= 34 curve. If it was easier than September’s test, than that doesn’t bode well for the curve…

I took September. This was the hardest science I’ve taken out of the many tests I’ve taken.

-1 was a 34 for reading last time? ‘.’

Ummm…I honestly think -1 will be a 35 this time.

^ Yes, -1 was a 34 for Reading last time. If you go through the Scores thread for the September ACT, you’ll notice that no one got a 35 on Reading.

What are the normal curves for the ACT?

@Anonymous: There really are no “normal” curves; each form number of the ACT has its own curve based on the difficulty of each specific part of that test. A very difficult math section may have a -2=36, while a very easy math section may have a -1=34. I suppose a “normal curve” may look like this:
-1 = 36
-2 = 35
-3 = 34
-4 = 33
-5 = 33
