How was the reception?

Nothing I didn't know before, but it was nice being on campus again and listening to the adcoms.

Basically, the schedule was:

10:30-11:30: The marching band played some songs, and the adcoms gave speeches.

11:30-1:30: I went to my academic presentation in Bovard Auditorium. Again, the adcoms gave speeches again. Then I went to McClure's lecture and then the special programs lecture.

1:30-2:00: Lunch at Founder's Park

2:00-2:30: Walked around campus. I wanted to go check out Birnkrant, but no one was there to open the doors for us, so...

So yeah. The weather was nice today. Unfortunately, I didn't get any gear, but I will soon. On another note, USC = University of Sexy Chicks is true. :p

How was your day?

I didn't get any USC gear too! (they ran out of sizes) :(
But overall I thought the reception was really nice, and the band performance was a pleasant surprise :D

Yup. I thought Toxicity was pretty good. And of course, the Fight On! song.

OKAY...we thought it was rather chilly (but we are a Southern California family; the Chicago visitors were laughing at us!)

We had an excellent session at Marshall w/ all questions answered and very personable, well-spoken students to represent the school. Internships seem key. Semesters abroad very popular. These kids are LOVING their college experience. We heard from freshman, juniors and a senior. Really good session, but long.

Lunch ---> chilly again!

Then, my son rang The Bell while the guys laughed since his parents are both die-hard BRUINS!!!

Next, we stuffed our UCLA pride & bought cardinal and gold at the bookstore.

Saw Birncrandt (sp?) and New/North which were both nicer than Boston College, Claremont McKenna, Stanford & Cal dorms but not as cool as Duke.

Walked over to the student athletic center, saw the pool, etc... then caught the end of the WA-USC baseball game where his young cousins happened to be bat boys for WA. (who won by the way...)

Except for the clouds, a good time was had by all!

IMPRESSED BY: students, faculty & admin. (excellent availibility, knowledge, warmth of reception, and enthusiasm) and, yes, the girls were cute.
HOWEVER, I do think that finally the Bruin Song Girls dance better!!! Tra La.
Now all we have to do is get that bell back... sigh... as they announced today, it hasn't been in Westwood since you guys were in FIFTH GRADE. ouch.

I loved the reception! USC is only about 22.4 miles away from my house, so I thought that the reception was worth a visit... and was it ever! I don't know if it was just today, but I had never visited a college campus with such vibrance, pride, and involvement. I went into Bovard Auditorium like the original poster of this thread, but I heard Professor Lamy's sample lecture, not Professor McClure's. I loved that sample lecture. The USC band was great, lunch was good, the campus was beautiful, representatives were helpful, the residence halls weren't that bad at all, and if I go to USC next year, I will do my best to protect Tommy Trojan. That's all I have to say for now, haha.

Wow... you guys are so lucky that they brought the Victory Bell out! That is supposed to stay in hiding all year round...the only time I have EVER seen it is at football games...

Haha, with the Trojan Knights, I'm sure we don't have much to worry about, right?

I went today. It was nice. There was this girl with the baton doing all these tricks and stuff.

My schedule was:

Opening
Engineering Open House
1~1:30 Chem Eng
1:30~2 Lunch
2~2:30 Bus Neighborhood Tour
2:30~2:50 Bookstore, got a Red Sweater with gold USC (no sizes for the zip-ups or greys :/)
Visited Parkside, which was real nice.

Yeah, we had a whole bunch of visitors in Parkside. Since my room is the closest one to the elevator and we had our door open, we had a lot of visitors here...

redski, are you a guy or a girl?

i'm a guy....

lol, k. just wondering...................
