USC Admit Reception (@Singapore) experience

So guys, I went to the admit reception in singapore today. To sum it up:

Today I went to the USC admit reception which was quite okay. The reception started off with a slideshow that talks about USC's reputation. This is the part I find most boring because all they keep mentioning was the fact that USC is ranked bla bla bla and that the average SAT scores this year is 1395, surpassing those of UCLA and Berkeley - according to them. They mentioned about it like 10000 times throughout the whole presentation - as if SAT scores are the sole factor that distinguishes them from the other top unis.

After the slideshow (which was boring), there was a video about life and academics in USC - interrupted by bad sound system that my ears nearly blasted a few times. I found that many of the comments shown on the video were quite general like they use a lot of words like "amazing" and "great". I need specifics - which I was able to later on find out. The video was followed by a question-and-answer session where each of the 4 of their alumnis responded. This part was pretty interesting as they talked about how there were a lot of internships available and also how the professors were amazing. The rest of the talk was about social life and safety around the campus.

After it all ended, I had a talk with one of the 4 alumnis that graduated a few years ago. Man, he was soo cuteeeee - he has a really nice tan. His eyes are so gorgeous and he has such a sweet smile We talked about all sorts of things about USC from their academics and even to the choices of my school. He was, I guess, friendly - and he likes to smile a lot. Unfortunately our convo was cut short by a phonecall he received and I never got to talk to him again. Damn - haha. I should have asked for his email addie at least. His name is Hanson. Cuteeeeeeeeee - damnnn cute.

USC's focus in the presentation: their reputation and great alumni connections all over the world - which I don't particularly find interesting.

Joe

Did they give you any goodies? NYU Tisch today gave out nice bookbags and a notebook and pen and they had yummy food.

naw. They just made us sit and we were in a room (like in a press conference). There was pen and paper on the table in front of every seat, plus water and some mentos haha. After the presentation, there was light beverages like tarts, and some pastry. So it wasn't THAT amazing.
