Anyone planning to attend this?

I want to, however, I live in Ohio so I lack the capital. I have not even visited the school.

YES! from what I hear, it's a great day...

I'm planning on attending! Have to wait for my finaid letter though, parents are stingy on vacations...

They also have receptions all around the country.

yep. Anyone going to the Oakland one? on the 17th??

i will be at the LA one!

Think there's any point if I went to Explore USC and plan on visiting the campus again next week anyway?...I don't want to miss out on anything, but...maybe it's a USC overdose?

no such thing as a USC overdose...lol
I will be at 4 USC events in one week!

What is the schedule for the admitted reception?

I went to the HI one 4/1. It was OK--only lasted about 2 hours. They broke the large group into schools so that everyone could meet the deans/asst deans of the schools they were accepted at or interested in. They also spoke generally about the competitive applicant pool, Trojan family, had some alumni speak, suggested everyone show up for orientation (to register--will be 5/20 in HI) & answered questions. I liked it & was able to speak with the dean of engineering, who was really nice.
They also reassured folks that are NMFs that as long as they list USC as their #1 choice by the deadline (I believe 4/19), they will get 1/2 tuition scholarship. They reminded folks to get their FAid docs in right away too, so they can get their FAid packages before 5/1.
The reception began with a powerpoint slide show & then there were some speakers who talked to the whole group. Son was very disappointed there were no snacks or desserts served, only soft drinks, coffee & tea. :( Oh well, I was happy I got the info I wanted by speaking with some of the USC staff & dean. :)

thank you for your input HImom. I wonder if the LA one is bit different...I recall hearing it was an all-day event.

AGENDA FOR LA RECEPTION:

10:00 - Check In
10:30 - Welcome Session
11:30-1:00 - Academic Dept. Info. Sessions
1:00-4:00 - Walking Tours, Neighborhood Bus Tours, Residential Hall Tours, Financial Aid Counseling, Academic Dept. Fair

Sounds like a fun day!
