How was your test room? (June 7th SAT)

Mine was actually terrific. I was at my own school which made me feel much less nervous, and my physics teacher was my proctor. I was worried about the temp at first but they turned the AC on (it's 95 outside right now...). One kid had a huge hacking fit in the middle of section 7 that went on for a while and was kinda distracting, but besides that it was all ok.

My room was fine:
Nice, spacious, and air conditioned.
You could hear a few sirens outside but that wasn't too distracting.
Kids were coughing but it wasn't too distracting either.
Nice breeze.
Nice building.
Overall comfortable location.

The proctor was really strict, room was hot and small, and desks were so tiny that i dropped my calculator and other things a few times..

No, Godfatherbob. No joke. Feel free to come out and visit- and bring the 90s with you!

92 freaking degrees!
& to make things worse.. i was sitting riggggggght next to the window. aka LOTS of sunlight & stupid bugs flying in every two seconds. it was bad. :(

It was so utterly pasty in our room! Didn't help that I was sitting directly by a window.

i took mine out in the country.

The school was worse than a school in a 3rd world nation.

All the desks were too small/and or broken

There was no a/c. 97 degrees outstide with 80 percent humidity.

There was 1 fan for a 400 square foot room

There were literally bugs flying around in the room, not moths, but small roaches. I found one in my second math section. It must have snuck in there. Nearly had a heart attack.

rixtehstix, where exactly did you take the test? sounds really bad

mine was pretty good
the proctor was nice , even funny. the room was good, but i forgot a lot((( (was taking sat bio)

between the boarder of mississippi and alabama

Our desks were too close together, and the clock was in the back. Other than that, the room was fine. It was a little chilly in morning; my runny nose was really annoying when I had to write the essay.

Cold, and my desk squeaked.

Ima blamin' my ****ty math score on it.

Mine wasn't too bad. But the proctor was obviously in a bad mood. She read through directions for filling in the personal info fisrt page stuff quick- which wasn't bad because you don't really need directions for the info part. But she didn't give us TIME to do it. So I had to go back and do it when I had a bit of spare time on my sections- other people had to do the same it was awful. Also, she didn't keep time very accurately, at one point stopping three minutes early. I was done on that one though.

She gave us two 1 minute breaks, and it sounded like she was reading off something because she said,"You may stand and stretch for 1 mintue but don't walk around..." People started to stand up and she said,"No sit down I was just reading." WHAT?!?! And then we got a 5 minute break which felt a lot more like 3 minutes. I was really hungry as I was so nervous this morning I couldn't eat. I had gone to the bathroom quickly and I had taken 3 bites of my sandwich and a sip of one of those small 5 oz soda's when we had to go back >:[ It felt really good afterward to eat though :)

Also, I have a cheap kiddie watch that I bought at the dollar store. It doesn't have an alarm it's so cheap, and it's ugly with tinkerbell on it but I needed a watch. All it does is tell time. Anyway an alarm went off a few times during a section. Afterward, the teacher asked whose watch it was. The girl next to me had the NERVE to nod her head towards me. WHAT!!?!?! It came from the other side of the ROOM. Anyway after getting pestered by the proctor, she finally figured out it was a watch in the teacher's desk. But she still kept watching me closely on all the other sections.

It was very hot- and this is coming from someone who is usually cold in schools! And our room had too many people in it. We had about 35 people, and then there were some stand-bys that came in and more desks had to be brought in.

Also, I think I was the only person in the classroom who didn't go there. So it was weird because everyone was staring at me. The girl near me kept looking at me and sleeping on and off. Why was she even THERE? This isn't a required test why are you wasting your/your parent's money?

hmmm...thinking back it sucked :p haha I'm just glad it's over

NO CLOCK IN THE ROOM!..... I was so ****ed off... I had no watch :(
Luckily I was fine with time, except the watch would have helped on the essay.

The proctor was pretty decent. The desks SUCKED.... they were apparently made for 400 pound people... there was at least two feet between the desk and the back of the chair... It was bad, my back hurt terribly. The desk was also pretty small :-S

Other than that, though... it was okay.

My room was freezing, but something hilarious went down. For no apparent reason, some kid just completely left after the 2nd section.

Mine was awesome. Our proctor was really funny and told us stories before and during stretch breaks and stuff.
As for noise....i brought ear plugs....i love to test with them. It makes me go into my own little world and it makes is SOOO much easier for me to focus

my room was sooo hot it was 97 degrees and i was seated near the window. I could barely concentrate! Stupid heatwave came at the worst possible time.

The only bad thing about my room was that my desk was squeaky, got really anoying

proctor collected our admission tickets and started test without anyone filling out any information. sometime in the middle, proctor told us to fill out information; then proctor realized that we needed our admissions tickets. room was hot until we turned the a/c on. unfamiliar school

The clock in our room was messed up, but other than that, it was okay. Temperature was fine.. The school wasn't that great though.. I've never been to any US high schools before..

Just wondering, do all high schools in US have metal detectors at the entrances? and do they all have bathroom stalls that only come up to your neck? (if i was taller, it would have only came up to my chest or something.)

my room was actually okay.
it was a bit cold cos AC and windows and doors were open..

i didn't really like the people in my room though. One kept on clearing her throat. I know it's not her fault, but its freaking annoying. The guy behind me kicked me a few times in the middle. This other guy fell asleep during the test; he's one of those 'wannabe' people who try to act 'cool'.

@ sparklingjuice: no, no schools in my district have metal detectors. Either cos we think we're safe, or cos we have no money. Probably the latter, haha.
