I’m currently a Sophomore in high school and have had fairly good grades in everything except German. For contextual purposes: in middle school I was lazy and did not care about anything(how times have changed…), but was taking two high school classes, one of which was German. The second semester of 8th grade I got a B+ and I wasn’t aware this was actually a high school class at the time, so I wasn’t expecting to see this on my transcript, hence why I didn’t care much in 8th grade. This Is my worst grade to date and it is extremely frustrating because I am a very diligent worker now and if my school explained that it counted I would have been equally as diligent in my German class. I am taking honors German III now and have an A-, but it is not the end of the semester, so I am trying for an A. Basically, my question is will colleges care about this bad grade, especially considering I continued taking German through high school and my grade has progressively increased each semester. I have 95% or higher in all my other classes which are all AP and Honors. Thanks.
If you took a class in 8th grade it shouldn’t affect your HS GPA
It was a high school class I took early and my school district put it on my transcript.
One B+ in 8th grade won’t matter; if you went from A’s in 9th and 10th grade and then started getting lots of B’s in 11th grade, that would be material -all good!
