I'm applying for a scholarship that would allow me to study abroad in Germany for the entirety for my senior year and my German teacher seems to think I'm likely to be chosen. I would like to go, however, I'm concerned with how it might impact my chances of admission into the colleges of my choice. I will have 20 of 22.5 required credits completed at the end of this year and would most likely elect to finish some courses over the summer and the rest online, in English while in Germany, as I don't want my GPA to suffer if I don't do well in classes at a German high school. The colleges I'm aiming for are pretty selective and I'd like to know whether becoming an exchange student would be helpful, or if skipping out on a year of taking advanced classes at home is a bad idea. I'm inclined to take the scholarship either way, however I'd like to here some opinions regarding the subject. Thank you for any and all help.
