I'm doing really poorly in AP Calc AB and AP Bio this semester. I have about a 65 in both classes. I'm going to be able to drop AP Calc, and depending on what my counselor says, I may drop AP Bio. I'm majoring in journalism, so it's not like I'm going into med school or engineering or something. The main reason I want to drop AP Bio is a combination of things, but mainly that I just feel sick whenever I enter the class. My teacher loves to tell gorey stories, or something totally off topic about her friends-cousins-brother that had some kind of terrible accident (you get where I'm going) whenever we take notes. I've always had a weak stomach, and it's really gotten to me. Not to mention, she's a terrible teacher (even though that's really no reason to fail AP Bio). Low performance in AP Calc has led me to study more for it, causing less study time for biology, and vise versa. I already took Honors biology freshman year and I did well in it. I've already been accepted to UT-Knoxville, and I'm waiting to hear from U of Alabama and USC-Columbia. Next semester I have Honors Spanish V and Art II (and AP bio/calc as of now). I've done well in my other classes this semester (Hon. English 4 and architecture 2).

My question is: Am I at risk for being rescinded or not getting admitted from these schools by dropping the AP's and switching into another class? (possibly a semester-long AP or another honors course). Does my schedule still seem rigorous enough? I don't want colleges to think I've slacked off or had senioritis, because it's really just been a rough and stressful semester and I plan on having a great second semester (I know everyone says this but I really mean it) without the stress of those 2 AP's. Would it be better to just keep taking AP biology even with a failing grade on my mid-year report? Anyway, thanks for reading.
