I'm a community college student now and I'll be transferring to Miami University in the fall. My GPA before this semester was a 4.0, but now it's...not. I took 5 classes ad got B's in most of them but one of the classes isn't in my major (it's British Lit II, I took it as a online class and...it was a lot of work). My major is chemistry and I'm hoping to get a B in Gen Chemistry. This was the off-semester, so the offerings were slim, meaning I had to take it as a Saturday class with lab from 8-3 and which made things pretty condensed and difficult. Plus two honors math classes and some personal issues with my mother's health caused me to miss a few classes when she was in the hospital and needed to be taken to the doctor's office ad stuff like that.

When I transfer, I DON'T plan on taking 5 classes in one semester and maintainig a high GPA there even when my GPA won't transfer. How will most graduate schools look at my decline in GPA (especially in chemistry when I plan to be a biochemistry or biology major)? The courses, to me, were rigorous, especially for my school and with the personal issues that went on, it was pretty stressful and I'm just nervous that as an enterig junior next semester, I won't be a competitive applicant for graduate schools that offer stipends and such in either biochem or enviromental sciences (I'm not sure which yet).

But then again, I do worry a lot and I know not every entering graduate student has a 4.0 finishing undergraduate, but...I'm just not sure.
