How will the new SAT affect class of 2016 students who take the current version of SAT?

<p>Hi, I am a high school student in class of 2016. I know that class of 2016 will not be taking the new version of SAT, but still, will colleges start putting less importance on the SAT scores for smooth transition to admission changes for the class of 2017 who will be taking the new SAT (and less importance on the SAT for 2017)? </p>

<p>Or if not, how will the change affect class of 2016? not 2017?</p>

<p>I honestly don’t think it’s going to affect us 2016’ers. The new SAT will be released the spring of our senior year, when most college acceptances will be rolling out. No one in our class, theoretically, should be taking the SAT that late in the game, and thus, it shouldn’t affect anything for us. </p>
