How will we find out whether we’re in or not? I assume Brown still physically mails out letters of rejection/acceptance/deferral but do they put decisions on the website and through email as well?
Also, is Dec. 11 the definite mailing day or an estimate?

You will find out through the mail, unless they are doing something different this year from in the past. Also, you will find out by logging in with your numbers that you were sent through the email. They will not send you an email about the decision, per se. Unless, of course, they are doing things differently this year for the first time. It’s hard to say if Dec 11 is the definite mail date; things could change without notice through the Admissions Office, so keep up with the web site-- there will be updates from time to time if they are necessary. Good luck!

Unless they have changed things, from my recollection three years ago, my S logged on to the website using his given PIN. The exact acceptance written letter appeared (he received a hard copy a few days later). I do remember that it took about 10 min to log on as so many people were trying to, that he couldn’t get on-it was very nerve wracking! So, either you will see an acceptance, defferal or denial letter.

I believe my GC called the Brown office and asked them. I think they said that they would send us an email with a way we could find out on the 11th, but the letter comes in the mail after that. I could be wrong however.

on your user page, it has a thing under “application data” that has the term and the decision, which is “currently not available.” so i think on the 11th that’ll change and tell you your decision! also, i was on some other thread and some guy posted a copy of the… email? maybe? they sent him with his decision, so i know they send you a hard copy in the mail, too. i’ll try to find that post…
