How would an Ivy League view a good ACT and bad SAT?

Well, I received a 30 on my first ACT without prep. I think that is pretty good for a first one. I'm going to prep for the second one and shoot for a 33+.

I received a 1900 on my first SAT though, and a 198 on my PSAT. Wasn't too stellar about it..

I received a 740 in math which kills, considering I should have easily gotten a perfect score, and I averaged a 580 on my W and CR...

I really need to work on those, and am hopefully going to see progress when I start studying for my November SAT in September after my ACT. I plan to use the BB to study for it.

I also plan on taking 2 subject tests in December: Math 2, and I'm not sure about the other one yet.

So yeah, back to my question: How do you think an Ivy League school would view a good ACT score and a bad SAT score?

They will consider the higher of the two scores, in your case the ACT.

Do you have to send in both SAT and ACT scores? Can you just send your better ones?

I hope you’re right college4three.

Don’t even send the SAT.

If you end up with a 33 and a 2000 or so, you might consider sending only the ACT score. Most of the colleges I’ve looked at will accept either.

are there schools that will only accept the SAT and not the ACT?

^ Nope. 10char

thanks, I just had a near heart attack

this is good news lol i have a 1910 on my SAT but a 33 on ACT, will colleges find it suspicious or curious that i did not submit SAT then?

If you just submit ACT, I don’t think they’ll know that you took the SAT as well.

Why would they be suspicious? Thousands of students submit only an ACT score.

I thought that the ivy leagues require both the SAT and ACT though.

^No they don’t require both.

Oh okay, but what if I take 2 subject tests? I know I’m taking the Math 2 subject test for sure.
