My son is applying for a very competitive student internship and is writing a Statement of Purpose. I’m an artist/designer and feel very unqualified to help him with editing a professional piece like this. He is currently in a remote village in Africa so his options there are very limited. Have you ever used an online professional editor? Are they good?

He is writing it himself. He’d like someone to proofread and suggest edits, many writers do that. I’m a pretty good writer but am unfamiliar with the very particular form of an application’s “Statement of Purpose”. He needs some direction from a knowledgable source and I see the online sites for editors of essays, etc. Any feedback?
