How would you rank these schools?

Which school, assuming I am applying ED, is the easiest (relatively) to get in to. This is not based on my stats, just the fact that I know that some schools may be somewhat easy to get in to ED, but extremely tough and harder than many other schools RD.

Assuming I am a white CT male: Put these schools in order from easiest to hardest (Early Decision):
Cornell
Colgate
Bowdoin
CMU
Vanderbilt
Northwestern

CMU
Vanderbilt (From CT)
Bowdin
Colgate
Northwestern
Cornell

Cornell
Northwestern
CMU
Vanderbilt
Bowdoin
Colgate

Colgate
Vanderbilt
CMU
Bowdoin
Northwestern
Cornell

go on collegeboard and look at early decision applicants and early decision acceptees...then just divide.

thats a lot better than asking us.

Cornell and CMU are both ED whores. They take almost 50% ED acceptance rate. Subsequently, Cornell and CMU are both considerably harder to get into via regular decision.

wow I am really surprised some of you have said I would have any easier chance getting into cornell than colgate. This is making me rethinking my ED choices greatly-thanks for the input!

well, take a look at some of the stats people have posted for being accepted ED to Cornell. Though the acceptance rate hovers in the high 30% range, the students that are generally admitted are very well qualified. I wouldn't say Colgate is harder to get into.

I recommend that you check out the collegeboard website. It gives a rough idea of the percentage accepted at each school under early decision.

Bowdoin 1
Northwestern 2
Cornell 2-3
Colgate 4
Vanderbilt 5
CMU 6

Bowdoin is an extremely competitive school.

Cornell- 41.5%
CMU- 52.8%
Colgate- 48.9%
Bowdoin- 29.5%
Vanderbilt- 48.4%
Northwestern- 49.7%
