I haven't seen any threads dedicated to the program. Since there are threads for Northwestern, UMKC, and PSU, I'd thought creating a thread for Howard would be a good addition. In order to keep this from being a spam post, I'm going to start off with some (very legitimate) questions.

-What are the stats needed to get into this program (average SAT/SAT II/ACT scores, GPA, etc.)? (I can't find them anywhere)
-Is it a guaranteed or provisional?
-What percentage of graduates match into their residency of choice?
-What is the average STEP I score?
-How good are their clinical rotations?
-How much will it cost, and are there any scholarships available for this program?

These are all questions that I've had about this program, and I've never been able to find an answer. Countless google searches have produced nothing, unfortunately.

“BS/MD requirements for entering into the College of Medicine include: Minimum science GPA of 3.25; minimum overall GPA of 3.5; minimum total MCAT score of 24; strong interview and supportive letters of recommendation.”

Those are matriculation requirements. I was asking what are the requirements that you would need in order to be considered for their BS/MD program altogether.

Yes. I have been looking for stats too but I have heard mixed messages. I heard that they take lower stats so the students will work in underdeveloped areas (If that makes sense). I am de3finately intersted in the program and pray that I get in.

Also, does anyone know what dates they get back to applicants concerning interviews and acceptances?

@ COMBINED: are you applying this year? Is Howard your top choice?

Forgot to answer the other question. Yes, Howard is a top choice, but it’s not my first choice. More like my third. My first and second choice programs are programs in my state (NY). My top choice is the 8 year Stonybrook program and my second choice is the 8 year program with SUNY Downstate.

I am a senior so I have already applied and I will definately tell you guys if I get in. But, someone I know attended the school (late 90’s-ish -> entry date into BS/MD) and he said that it wasn’t that hard to get in. But, the demand for such a program has probably increased drematically… so I don’t know (but, I hope I get in).

Chance me someone (pretty desperate & have put it @ a bunch of place - lol)
<be honest=“”> Here we go…</be>

AP classes taken- AP Chem. (5), AP Comp. Sci A (5), AP Comp. Sci. AB (5), English Lang. (3)
Senior AP Classes: AP Physics C, AP Calculus AB, AP English Lit./Comp., AP Biology

Unweighted GPA: 3.75
Weighted: 3.826
(I messed up Freshman year, but I definately have a strong upward trend, unweighted GPA: 9th: 3.4ish -> 10th: 3.7-> 3.85). * and I started taking much harder classes each year.

Extra Curricular: *Co-founder of education (medicine related and proliferation of education to needy) non-profit. (Main one)

No, that doesn’t make any sense and could be interpreted as offensive. An applicant’s background, essay, and ECs are a far better indicator of whether he or she wants to eventually work in an underdeveloped area.

You might be looking in the wrong places. It’s easily found in the MSAR. For the 08-09 class, average SAT 2000 and GPA 3.7, ACT range 26-30, “expected” to be in top 5 percent of high school class.

Its just for the undergraduate portion…so for two years excluding summer sessions. But this ends up saving approximately 50 grand with a 1350+SAT/30+ACT so not bad at all. Do you by any chance know when we find out about interviews/final decision?? Im so desperate for any info regarding this program since its impossible to find any.

They are still processing my regular application b/c of the snow (should be in soon). Did you get any scholarship? - I really just need to get into the BS/MD program (that’s what really matters to me).
