how's the sense of humor at LU?

I get a sense that the students and the staff at LU by and large are pretty warm and friendly, but I was wondering how much of a sense of humor is present at campus? For example, LU's conservatory just put on Carmina Burana. Would they think the following is funny? Or tasteless lowbrow and not becoming of a conservatory of music that is on a par with Manhattan School of Music and the like?

YTMND - Carmina Burana, alternate lyrics

I just sang Carmina in LU's Concert Choir. Here's a link to the concert's Facebook event page: we've got that exact video posted on the page. The choir DIRECTORS loved it, too.

We're very relaxed about being "proper" - for an example, all of our operas are done in English (which lets the audience enjoy the show while costing a little bit proper-osity-wise.)

I'm not in the Con, myself, but I do take voice lessons, so I know at least most of the connies who sing... it's a fun atmosphere, nothing too snooty.

eggggsellent, cornfused. I like your name, too. Prompts another question: Is wordplay encouraged and prevalent at LU? (kidding!) I had sent that link to a few LU-ers and they said nothing back. Maybe they did not see it yet, or maybe they simply did not like it, or who knows? I think it is hilarious and cleverly done, but it is a bit self-mocking. I wanted to get a sense of the 'humor vibe' over there at LU.

I did not see the link you referred to. Wd that be a public thing to see? I'd like to see it.

It seems that different colleges have different personalities, or might try to project predilections consciously. Carleton, for example, a college that in this space people have said LU is similar to , just more selective, sent postcards of cookies being mixed and baked in the mail as part of its sell. It also had librarian cards like baseball cards. I was told that Carleton's president reads spooky stories to the students at Halloween. These kinds of anecdotes kind of sum up to a certain bit of a sense of humor - and poking some fun at the whole uber academic thing - that might be present at that school.

The LU video I linked to in another thread shows a certain smart sense of humor, both with the students shown, as well as with that classics prof.
