Hows this midyear report looking?

Ap lit 94/89
AP calc 91/83
AP eco 94/93
AP gov 92/88
AP Physics 80/74
Honors spanish 95/85

Second quarter went down since i had to get all my apps done/in and the work was harder..

will this hurt my chances for nyu, lehigh, lafayette, etc..

Probably if you are borderline...

You dropped 2 lettergrades in some cases!

You should Write a letter reiterating your interest and explaining yourself to send along with the report, that may mitigate the lower grades

It might hurt you a little bit if they require you to submit the midyear report.

lol i feel this wouldnt look as bad as if i just got B's first quarter..

I didn't think it was so bad, considering i have A avg's in 4/6 classes?

You don't think colleges will understand that 2nd quarter is the big college app quarter?

I dont know how it is in your school but in my school the transcripts that are sent out dont show quarter grades or final exams grades. they only show semester grades. So considering you still have pretty good semester grades than I wouldnt worry (that is if your school is like mine)

I asked my school and they send both quarters grades out...

any other opinions

yeah its a little iffy. If you write them a letter explaining that ur grades dropped because of college apps, it may seem like an excuse (not that its not, b/c i know what youre going through). but if you dont write them a letter, youre hoping that one of the adcom's looks at it and says "oh cc1256 was probably finishing up apps then, let's give him/her the benefit of the doubt for her grade drop". honestly i think Lucaskhan is right, i mean i think it gets you rejected if you are borderline, but if you arent close to the fence, i dont think it matters too much.

It's ok. Colleges aren't looking for academic robots... If they did, the average SAT scores at harvard would be a LOT higher

yea as in the median would probably be 1600
