HS Class of 2014 Architecture Acceptances

Here is a thread to start posting where the high school class of 2014 is applying and any acceptances! Good luck everyone! :)

Applying:
Lehigh
ND
Rice
Syracuse
Wash U

Accepted:
Tulane University

I’m so excited about this thread finally happening!

Applying:
ND EA
UVa EA
Cornell
Rice
Carnegie Mellon
WashU

Applied only to Syracuse Arch. and got in!

I appled to Cal Poly SLO early decision for Architecture and made it! :D

Congratulations to you both. Those are two really great programs. Glad to see the arch thread on CC isn’t completely dead.

I’ll find out about Notre Dame EA next week (excited!)

Thanks! And good luck to you!

D applied to Cal Poly SLO ED only (the one and only school) and was accepted. She’s happy to tell anybody that asks that it is the #1 Arch school for 2013!.. Lol

Son got accepted to U of Kansas 5-year M. Arch program with a sweet scholarship to boot. Waiting to hear from Rice. He applied to others but these are his top 2.

Congrats everyone! It’s so good to hear that all of you are receiving acceptances.
I’m a current freshman at Syracuse Arch, so if anyone is looking at the school feel free to send me a PM with any questions about the program, or with any questions about arch life in general.

updating from earlier today, son definitely attending Kansas, (rejected by Rice).

Congrats to your son on the KU acceptance! Looks like they changed their admissions process this year. Last year the arch school took until middle of Feb to make admissions decisions. Nice for your son that he doesn’t have that long wait! My daughter is there as a freshman this year. She has been having a great experience with KU in general and the arch school in particular. Did you see that the Studio 804 project this year is putting an addition on Marvin Hall?

MidWestM, no I hadn’t read yet about the studio 804 project this year. Just now really focusing on all things KU, as our son has made his decision. Have only been there once during the summer, now planning to visit during his high school spring break in March to see the campus while in session (we’ll be there right before KU spring break). Wife and I at this point more excited than he is, but he’ll warm up to it as his HS graduation nears.

Early action results for anyone?

So far, I got into both my EA schools, Notre Dame and UVa!

Accepted:
Virginia Tech
Syracuse
Rice
Wash U
UVA
Pratt

Applied: (still waiting for a decision)
Cornell
Cooper Union

Accepted Undergraduate:
Wash U in St. Louis
Tulane
Syracuse
Lehigh

My daughter chose Wash U. They have a really incredible UG and Grad Architecture program. I had no idea how different their 4+2 program is from a 5 year accelerated program. It is so much more relaxed which my daughter really likes. She will be able to take other courses besides Arch and be able to enjoy the college experience too.

I want to thank the Arch team on college confidential: Rick12, momrath and turbo, for stressing that you should visit these Architecture schools because they are all really different and you have to find the one that fits you the best. Thanks again for all your help!

Hey NJ17, Congratulations to your daughter and you! I think WUSTL is a wonderful choice for many reasons, not the least of which is that with her 4 year BS she’ll have several options: she can either continue on at WUSTL, move to another school for her M.Arch, or do something else altogether. Come back and let us know how she likes it.

Accepted for architecture:

Notre Dame
UVa
Rice
Cornell
WUSTL
Carnegie Mellon
(also UChicago but not for architecture really)

Basically got accepted everywhere I assumed I would get rejected for architecture, so life is crazy. Deciding between WashU, Rice, and Cornell! Hoping to find what fits me best, but I hope I like Cornell especially.

How would folks on this thread rate Leigh’s architecture program. I know it is 4+2, but other than that…Thanks!

Lehigh’s BA in architecture is broad and deep with a lot of course options in studio and art history. You should be aware, though, that it may mean 4+3 or 3.5 instead of 4+2 depending on the requirements of the chosen M.Arch program.
